Loud noise shatters glass in Tularosa
Sonic booms could be responsible for damage

TULAROSA - A particularly loud sonic boom rang throughout Tularosa at about 1:45 p.m. Monday afternoon, setting flocks of mourning doves to flight, dogs into panic and had people talking at shops all across town.

Rowena Laabs, an antique collector, was riding with Sharon Silverson on Central Avenue in Tularosa when they sighted large, jagged shards of a 6-by-8 foot, one-inch thick glass display window at the Adobe Daubers Collectible Shop at 275B Central Ave.
