Police receive calls in response to explosive sound

El Dorado, Kan. — This afternoon's regular schedule was interrupted by what was described by some as an explosion.

A barrage of reports to the El Dorado Police Department flooded phones shortly after, with callers describing the incident as a sound similar to an explosive occurrence.

The audible shock wave startled county residents as far away as Towanda, according to El Dorado Police officers.
