Boating tragedy haunts skipper

THREE mates, a boat and a perfect day.
But this fishing trip, off Point Cartwright, turned to tragedy on September 9.
The boat of North Arm man David Ziems, 53, and his passengers Walter Chapman, 78, and his son Simon, 45, was struck by the first of a set of large waves at 10am.
Walter Chapman, who reportedly suffered from dementia, drowned, while Simon, who has a physical disability, barely survived.
